While the New England Patriots are preparing for the 2024 season, the Boston Celtics are playing in the NBA Finals.

At Game 2 on Sunday night, a number of people with Patriots ties were seen at the game, including former head coach Bill Belichick. However, only one Patriot was honored by the Celtics - Matthew Slater.

Slater, who played for the team for 16 years and is now transitioning to an advisor role, received a "Heroes Among Us" award during the game for his work in the community.

The 10-time Pro Bowler is no stranger to being recognized for his character, as he won the Bart Starr Award in 2017 and the Art Rooney Award in 2021.
