7 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 7 for New England image

The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now seven days away.

Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

Since 1960, 13 players have worn No. 7 in New England, and with seven days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

QB Jacoby Brissett: 2016, Present

  • Appeared in three games for New England in his first season, completing 61.8% of his passes for 400 yards
  • Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders
  • Will be the team's starting quarterback in 2024

WR JuJu Smith-Schuster: 2023

  • Appeared in 11 games for New England in one season, catching 29 passes for 260 yards and a touchdown
  • Also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers (made a Pro Bowl) and Kansas City Chiefs (won a Super Bowl)

P Jake Bailey: 2019-22

  • Appeared in 58 games for New England over four seasons, averaging 54.9 yards per punt
  • Made a Pro Bowl and an All-Pro with the Patriots
  • Also played for the Miami Dolphins

QB Matt Gutierrez: 2007

  • Appeared in seven games for New England in one season
  • Also played for the Kansas City Chiefs

QB Michael Bishop: 2000

  • Appeared in eight games for New England in one season, completing three of his nine passes for 80 yards, one touchdown and an interception

P Mike Saxon: 1993

  • Appeared in 16 games for New England in one season, averaging 42.4 yards per punt
  • Also played for the Dallas Cowboys (won a Super Bowl) and Minnesota Vikings

QB Hugh Millen: 1991-92

  • Appeared in 20 games for New England over two seasons, completing 60.5% of his passes fro 4,276 yards, 17 touchdowns and 28 interceptions
  • Also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams

K Teddy Garcia: 1988

  • Appeared in 16 games for New England in one season, making 46.2% of his field goals and 68.8% of his extra points
  • Also played for the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings

K Rex Robinson: 1982

  • Appeared in three games for New England in one season, making one of his two field goal attempts and all five of his extra points

P Ken Hartley: 1981

  • Appeared in two games for New England in one season, averaging 29.6 yards per punt

K Nick Lowery: 1978

  • Appeared in two games for New England in one season, missing his lone field goal attempt and making all seven of his extra points
  • Also played for the Kansas City Chiefs (making four Pro Bowls and two All-Pros) and New York Jets

K Charlie Gogolak: 1970-72

  • Appeared in 26 games for Boston/New England, making 55.6% of his field goals and all of his 42 extra points
  • Also played for Washington

QB John Huart: 1966-67

  • Appeared in 18 games for Boston over two seasons, completing eight of his 20 attempts for 88 yards and two interceptions
  • Also played for the Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles
