June is Men's Mental Health Awareness month, and a member of the New England Patriots roster is stressing the importance of checking in on loved ones.

After Monday's minicamp session outside Gillette Stadium, Patriots captain David Andrews was asked a question regarding mental health, and he took the opportunity to speak about his friend and former Patriots offensive tackle Korey Cunningham, who passed earlier this offseason.

"I think it's important," Andrews said. "It's important to check in on your friends. I lost a good friend Korey Cunningham a month or two back. I had literally just talked to him. We were talking about turkey hunting. I think it's important to check in on people because you don't really know what people are going through or what they're dealing with. Sometimes it's easy to talk and not really talk if that makes sense. I think that's always an important thing, and it's something that you need to make time for with your friends and loved ones."

This is great from Andrews because so many people go through so many things that just don't get discussed, and if we are all just a bit more open and willing to talk or listen, this world would be a much better place to live.
