The New England Patriots were off of the practice fields the last two days after they defeated the Carolina Panthers in their first preseason contest of the year.
However, New England returned for a training camp session behind Gillette Stadium on Sunday, which was only open for viewing by the media and season-ticket holders.
Here's what was seen during the fully padded practice session:
Participation/Attendance
- Wide receiver DeMario Douglas practiced without a red non-contact jersey.
- Wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (PUP), linebacker Sione Takitaki (PUP), offensive lineman Cole Strange (PUP), defensive lineman Christian Barmore, cornerback Marcus Jones, safety Marte Mapu and linebacker John Morgan didn't participate.
- Tight end Hunter Henry left practice with the trainers.

- Quarterback Jacoby Brissett hit wide receiver Jalen Reagor on a deep ball with cornerback Azizi Hearn in coverage.

- Maye hit Polk on a bootleg in 11-on-11s with cornerback Isaiah Bolden in coverage.
- Bolden worked in slot coverage in 11-on-11s.
- Brissett hit Reagor for a touchdown in 11-on-11s with cornerback Marco Wilson in coverage.
- Offensive lineman Nick Leverett got reps with the starting group at center.
- Brissett hit Osborn for a diving touchdown with Gonzalez in coverage.
- Maye's first pass of red zone work was batted by linebacker Anfernee Jennings and intercepted by defensive lineman Armon Watts.
- Maye hit tight end La'Michael Pettway for a touchdown on a corner route with defensive back Dell Pettus in coverage.
- Zappe and Joe Milton both got team reps at quarterback later in the practice.
- Maye got the Patriots into field goal range and kicker Joey Slye hit the attempt from 53 yards with no time left.
- Slye went 3-for-4 in the post-practice kicking competition while Chad Ryland was just 2-for-4.
