The Minnesota Vikings just finalized their 2024 NFL Draft class. They made seven selections during the three-day event, including their quarterback of the future in Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
With the NFL Draft comes the focus of the entire organization. Organized team activities take a break and will resume shortly after the NFL Draft, along with rookie minicamp coming up soon. One of the things that is on the plate for general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and the Vikings is the looming contract extension for superstar wide receiver Justin Jefferson.
NFL Draft has Justin Jefferson contract extension on hold
During the NFL Draft, the Vikings put Jefferson's extension on hold. One of the reasons that Adofo-Mensah cited was that Jefferson deserved his own week of attention and not have to share the spotlight.
Kwesi Adofo-Mensah said the Vikings continue to work toward a contract extension with WR Justin Jefferson. The sides took a break during the draft, and Adofo-Mensah said that when the deal is done, he would want Jefferson to have his own week and not be overshadowed by the draft.

This is another example of how Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O'Connell are building the culture in Minnesota. When Jefferson does get his extension, it's going to be a massive deal that gets celebrated everywhere.
