After admitting to tampering during his introductory press conference with the Atlanta Falcons, former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins walked it back after OTAs and claimed his innocence.
"I'll let that play it's course, but if I said anytihng at the press conference it's because it was so innocent."
Cousins is doing the right thing here by not admitting to tampering, but his words tell you the exact opposite story. Rumors have been swirling that the Vikings have strongly appealed the Falcons tampering after Cousins said he spoke with the Falcons head trainer during the legal tampering period.
What will end up coming from this? We don't know for sure, but the Falcons are expected to lose a draft pick if the National Football League ends up disciplining the franchise. However, the Vikings and Falcons could look to settle out of court so-to-speak like the Philadelphia Eagles and Arizona Cardinals did before the NFL Draft last year.
We will keep you updated on all elements of this evolving story.
