The Minnesota Timberwolves forgot to show up in game five of the Western Conference Finals. They were down by a whopping 29 points at halftime with a 69-40 deficit and it was ugly from the start.
Sports fans in the state of Minnesota are used to disappointment. The state hasn't seen a title in one of the major men's sports since 1991 from the Minnesota Twins and more heartbreak than you can imagine.
One of those games was the 2000 Minnesota Vikings who advanced to the NFC Championship Game against the New York Giants. They lost 41-0 which is commonly referred to as 41-donut by fans. The Timberwolves performance against the Dallas Mavericks in game five earned that comparison from ESPN's Kevin Seifert who covers the Vikings.
We’re watching the NBA version of 41-donut. Complete failure to compete in a conference final elimination game.

When you get that comparison in Minnesota, you know things are bad.
