The Minnesota Vikings didn't have a lot of injury luck in the 2023 season. They lost wide receiver Justin Jefferson and quarterback Kirk Cousins for a significant amount of time during the season along with other players missing time.
Tight end T.J. Hockenson also suffered a serious knee injury on Christmas Eve, which could prevent him from playing the first few games of the 2024 season. It wasn't the first injury that Hockenson had suffered during the season.
He suffered a rib injury against the Atlanta Falcons on November 6th but Hockenson revealed how bad the injury was during a podcast appearance on Bussin' With the Boys.
"He does a game winning drive on the last last drive, which was huge, you know? And then we come out the next week, and I've actually broke my rib in the Atlanta game. Fractured my two ribs in my on my right side, I still got a little bump. And then the next week, went off like I see the 135 in the first half with Dobbs playing. And I was, I was sick, you know, we had a lot of fun. We came out hot."
Playing with broken ribs is absolutely bonkers, especially when you play tight end. He didn't just play well to finish off the game against the Falcons but then torched the New Orleans Saints the following week with his best performance of the year.
Nobody is going to doubt the toughness of Hockenson moving forward.
