The Minnesota Vikings have multiple needs across their roster and ESPN's Bill Barnwell has them filling WR3 by signing former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow.

The NFL Draft helped them fill some of their holes, but one that they weren’t able to fortify was the wide receiver position. After Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison is a group of unproven talent. Now, Jalen Nailor, Brandon Powell or Trent Sherfield could step up, but it's not likely given their histories so far in the NFL.

Barnwell thinks the Vikings could go a different direction with Renfrow, who has proven to be a more than capable slot receiver.

What about the Vikings? They're set atop the depth chart with Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, but K.J. Osborn joined the Patriots and top tight end T.J. Hockenson is coming off a torn ACL. The Vikings brought in Trent Sherfield this offseason and could expand Brandon Powell's role, but Renfrow has a much more productive season in his recent past than either player has had at any point during their respective careers. Renfrow would probably be competing with Powell for the third wideout and punt returner role in Minnesota, a battle he could win if given the opportunity.

What's interesting about Barnwell's writeup of Renfrow is that he doesn't really talk about his game at all. For some reason, Renfrow went from being one of the best in the game to not playing much at all. How much of that was on Josh McDaniels not liking him versus him being washed? The answer here is likely why he doesn't have a contract in the NFL.

If on the right contract, it makes sense for the Vikings to bring him in, but it would have to be on a contract close to the minimum.
