Offensive line has seemingly been an issue for the Minnesota Vikings over the last decade. The Vikings have found their bookend tackles in Christian Darrisaw and Brian O'Neill but the interior still has major question marks.
Center Garrett Bradbury is fine, especially when you consider his salary cap hit. The guard positions have historically been the weakest for the Vikings and there are still questions at those positions.
The Vikings were set to go into the season with Blake Brandel and Dalton Risner as their starting guards but they re-signed Dalton Risner toward the end of May. He wasn't just brought in to be on the roster, the Vikings brought Risner back to compete for both guard spots. Kevin O'Connell confirmed that on the Rich Eisen Show.
"I think our offensive line has really been solidified. You know, obviously, with the two tackles we have to bring back Dalton Risner who's gonna compete like crazy at the guard spot with both Ed (Ingram) and Blake Brandel."
Bringing back Risner to not just compete for his old position of left guard but also right guard is a great idea. He has experience from his days at Kansas State at both right guard and right tackle so versatility is in his background. The same goes for Ingram, who also played a lot of left guard at LSU.
The Vikings are going to do everything they can to have the best two players starting at guard
