The Minnesota Vikings made a major change in their training room this offseason when they let go of head trainer Uriah Myrie. On Friday, they made two promotions to fill his role.

The Vikings have promoted Matt Duhamel to Associate Head Athletic Trainer & Director of Rehabilitation and Derik Keyes to Director of Football Development/Assistant Performance Coach.

Duhamel has been with the Vikings for 12 years and Keyes for nine years. That kind of tenure is important for an organization and current players had nice things to say about both individuals.

"Our whole entire locker room [trusts him]. He'll give you an unbiased opinion and shoot you straight," O'Neill said of Duhamel. "And he has a really good balance of pushing you and holding you to a high standard but still making it fun. He encourages you to think differently, think deeper, about what could be going on in your body, and he has a really great way of communicating with players."

That's a very glowing endorsement of Duhamel. Trust is the most important thing when dealing with medical issues and they have that in Duhamel.

Both Keyes and Duhamel will serve under Tyler Williams who is the Vice President of Player and Health Performance.
