The Minnesota Vikings are slowly getting healthier. On Monday afternoon, the Vikings placed running back DeWayne McBride on the Non-Football Injury list. On Wednesday, McBride passed a physical and will be a full participant in practice,
McBride was dealing with an unknown injury which is why he was placed on the NFI list to start training camp. Coming off of it will be huge for him in trying to make the team.
A seventh-round pick out of UAB, McBride was a wrecking ball for three years at the college level. What they didn't ask him to do was have any utility on third down. He caught just nine passes during his three years in college and rarely was on the field as a pass blocker. Those elements put him behind the eight-ball in trying to make an NFL roster.
Going into his second season, McBride is in a competition to become the third running back with Myles Gaskin and Kene Nwangwu.
