The Minnesota Vikings are set to host another cornerback on a visit with former Detroit Lions cornerback Jerry Jacobs set to visit the Vikings over the next few days, per ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
That's an interesting move for the Vikings, as their cornerback room has a lot of talented players in it. However, there aren't exactly any stars in the cornerback room.
Byron Murphy Jr. and Akayleb Evans are the starters in this group, but they haven't shown themselves to be locks at the position. Murphy does have some size and durability concerns and Evans struggled massively down the stretch to the point where he was benched.
Andrew Booth Jr. and Mekhi Blackmon rotated as the CB3 at the end of the season and haven't been any form of consistent. It's one of the main reasons why the team signed Shaquill Griffin and drafted Khyree Jackson.
Jacobs started 13 games for the Lions in 2023 and showed some struggles. He had a PFF coverage grade of 54.5 while allowing 47 catches on 71 targets for 602 yards and seven touchdowns. Is there something to get out of Jacobs? Well, he is only 26 years old and it could be worth a flier.
