Former Minnesota Vikings Pro Bowl edge rusher Everson Griffen was charged with fourth-degree DWI after being pulled over while driving in Chanhassen, MN on Saturday morning. Court documents show that he was arrested after a pursuit at 10:30 a.m.
Court documents also show that he was driving "reckless and erratic" and "at a high rate of speed." When Griffen eventually pulled over, he had a 0.099 breath alcohol concentration.
Griffen has seen his fair share of struggles during both his NFL career and after his retirement. Unfortunately, those struggles have continued with Saturday's arrest. He took a leave of absence in 2018 after an incident in a hotel before the Vikings game against the Buffalo Bills.
A former fourth-round pick, Griffen spent 11 seasons with the Vikings.
