The Minnesota Vikings are entering their own version of the Final Countdown.
The 2024 season is upon us and the excitement is palpable. As we get through the offseason, everyone wants to see quarterback J.J. McCarthy in a Vikings uniform. It will signal a new era in Vikings football for many reasons.
General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O'Connell are entering their third seasons in control of the Vikings and it's crunch time. They now have the team shaped in their image and it's going to be pivotal for their future to be successful in the next two seasons.
With 99 days until kickoff, here’s a look at every player to wear No. 99 with the Vikings (via Pro Football Reference):

DT Jerry Tillery
Tillery will wear the number for the first time in 2024.
EDGE Danielle Hunter
Hunter wore 99 from 2015-2023 and was excellent for the Vikings during his nine seasons.
DT Corey Wootton
Wooton wore it for only one season in 2014.
DT Christian Ballard
Ballar was a member of the Vikings for two seasons in 2011 and 2012.
ILB Napoleon Harris
The Vikings acquired Harris in 2005 in the Randy Moss trade but he only wore the number in 2008.
EDGE Erasmus James
James was a member of the Vikings for three seasons and wore it from 2005-2007.
DT Chris Hovan
The Vikings selected Hovan in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft and he wore it from 2000-2004.
DE Stalin Colinet
Colinet wore the number for three years from 1997 to 1999.
DE James Harris
Harris wore the number for three years as well from 1993-1995.
DL Al Noga
Noga wore the number for five seasons from 1988-1992.
OLB David Howard
Howard was the first Vikings player to wear 99, donning the number in 1985 and 1986.
