The Minnesota Vikings are entering their own version of the Final Countdown.
The 2024 season is upon us and the excitement is palpable. As we get through the offseason, everyone wants to see quarterback J.J. McCarthy in a Vikings uniform. It will signal a new era in Vikings football for many reasons.
General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O'Connell are entering their third seasons in control of the Vikings and it's crunch time. They now have the team shaped in their image and it's going to be pivotal for their future to be successful in the next two seasons.
With 91 days until kickoff, here’s a look at every player to wear No. 91 with the Vikings (via Pro Football Reference):
Every Vikings player to wear No. 91
EDGE Pat Jones II 2022-2024
The Vikings drafted Jones with the final of their four third-round picks in the 2001 NFL Draft. He wore 93 in his rookie season before switching to his college number. During his career, Jones has amassed 66 tackles and 5.0 sacks.
DT T.Y. McGill 2021
McGill has been a journeyman since his career began in 2015. He's played for six teams including two in 2021 for the Vikings. He made two tackles with one quarterback hit and a forced fumble. He was dominant in the 2022 preseason but was waived with an injury designation.
DE Stephen Weatherly 2016-2019, 2021
Weatherly was one of many successful seventh-round picks during the Rick Spielman era. During his first stint with the Vikings, Weatherly had 6.0 sacks before signing with the Carolina Panthers in 2020. He came back to the Vikings in 2021 but was traded to the Denver Broncos before the trade deadline.
EDGE Yannick Ngakoue 2020
When Danielle Hunter went down with a neck injury, the Vikings made a panic trade for Ngakoue sending the Jacksonville Jaguars second and fifth-round picks. In six games, he gathered 5.0 sacks and led the team and the Vikings traded him for third and fifth-round picks before the trade deadline.
DE Zach Moore 2015
Moore played four seasons in the NFL with four different NFL Teams across five seasons. He spent 2015 with the Vikings and played in just one game.

DE Ray Edwards 2006-2010
Edwards was another one of the Vikings' successful fourth-round picks at edge rusher with the Vikings taking him in 2006. Edwards played in 72 games with the Vikings and started 58 of them. He had 29.5 sacks in his Vikings career, including 8.5 in 2009 and 8.0 in 2010 opposite of Jared Allen. He started a pro boxing career at the end of his Vikings tenure and signed with the Atlanta Falcons.
DE Lorenzo Bromell 2002
The Vikings signed two defensive ends from the Miami Dolphins in 2002 with Bromell and Kenny Mixon. He lasted just one season with the Vikings and started in one game. He had 4.0 sacks in 2002 for the Vikings before moving on to play for the Oakland Raiders.
DE Willie Howard 2001
Howard was a second round pick out of Stanford in 2001 and made it just one season. He played in eight games for the Vikings 15 tackles. He didn't play another down in the NFL, which makes for a poor value out of a second-round pick.
DE John Burrough 1999-2000
Burrough joined the Vikings after four years with the Atlanta Falcons. He played in 24 games with the Vikings and started in eight of them. He made 42 tackles and 3.0 sacks during his two seasons.

NT Ray Yakavonis 1981-1983
Yakavonis played three years in the NFL and played for the Vikings in all of them. He recovered a fumble as his only stat in 19 games.
