The Minnesota Vikings are entering their own version of the Final Countdown.
The 2024 season is upon us and the excitement is palpable. As we get through the offseason, everyone wants to see quarterback J.J. McCarthy in a Vikings uniform. It will signal a new era in Vikings football for many reasons.
General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and head coach Kevin O'Connell are entering their third seasons in control of the Vikings and it's crunch time. They now have the team shaped in their image and it's going to be pivotal for their future to be successful in the next two seasons.
With 90 days until kickoff, here’s a look at every player to wear No. 90 with the Vikings (via Pro Football Reference):

DE Jonathan Bullard 2023-2024
Bullard is entering his third season with the Vikings and this will be his second year with the number 90. He started off with both 79 and 93 before grabbing 90, a number he wore at the University of Florida and with both the Chicago Bears and Arizona Cardinals.
DE Esezi Otomewo 2022
Otomewo was a fifth-round pick of the Vikings in 2022 and was viewed as a developmental player out of the University of Minnesota. He played in five games for the Vikings during his rookie year but didn't make the team with the defensive coordinator change.
DT Sheldon Richardson 2021
Richardson had two stints with the Vikings and wore 90 in his second one. He started seven of 17 games played and registered 2.5 sacks in 2021.
DT Jalyn Holmes 2020
Holmes was a fourth-round pick of the Vikings in 2018 after they traded down a couple of times in the in the third round. He lasted just three years with the Vikings, playing in 25 games while starting in nine. He wore 92 his first two seasons before wearing 90 for his final season in 2020.
DE Tashawn Bower 2017-2018
Bower was an undrafted free agent out of LSU when he made the Vikings 53-man roster in 2017. He lasted two seasons with the Vikings registering 1.0 sacks and 7 tackles. He returned in 2021 wearing the number 96.
DT Toby Johnson 2016
Johnson was an undrafted free agent in the 2015 NFL Draft and landed with the Vikings practice squad in January of 2016. He played in two games in 2016 and never played in another NFL game.
DT Fred Evans 2007-2013
After being a seventh-round pick in 2006 by the Miami Dolphins, Evans spent seven seasons with the Vikings in a rotational role. He played in 94 games with the Vikings nad made 98 tackles, 13.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks.
DE Khreem Smith 2006
Smith played in just three games in his NFL career with one in 2006 with the Vikings and two in 2007 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He registered his only tackle with the Vikings.
DT Eric Taylor 2005
Taylor played in just one game in the NFL and spent his time on practice squads outside of that, including with the Vikings in 2005.
DT Steve Martin 2004
Martin had a solid nine year career that he spent with seven different teams. His final season came in 2004 with the Vikings where he appeared in 12 games with 20 tackles and 0.5 sacks.
DE Jeff Hazuga 2001
Hazuga played his college ball locally at St. Cloud State and Wisconsin-Stout. That led him to the Vikings where he appeared in three games in 2001 with three tackles.
LB Gabe Northern 2000
Northern was a second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 1996 and played four seasons there. He came to the Vikings in 2000 for his final season. Northern played in nine games with two starts. He registered nine tackles.
DE Jeff Hazuga 2001
Quinn was a replacement player in the 1987 season for the Vikings. He played in three games with two starts.
DE Derrick Alexander 1995-1998
Alexander was taken in the first round as one of the many defensive lineman the Vikings selected high in the NFL Draft during Dennis Green's tenure. He played four seasons with the Vikings and registered 7.5 sacks. He signed with the expansion Cleveland Browns in 1999 but didn't play after the 1999 season.
DE Robert Harris 1992-1994
The Vikings selected Harris in the second round of the 1992 NFL Draft and he lasted three seasons with the Vikings before playing in five with the New York Giants. He registered just 3.0 sacks and 26 tackles with the Vikings before blossoming with the Giants.
LB John Galvin 1989
Galvin played in four NFL seasons with his first two and final one with the New York Jets. In 1989, Galvin appeared in 11 games.
DT Fred Molden 1987
Molden was a replacement player in the 1987 season for the Vikings. He played in two games and registered a sack.
DT John Haynes 1984
Haynes was a seventh-round pick in 1984 and lasted two seasons in the NFL. Haynes played in eight games with the Vikings in 1984 and had 2.0 sacks with a fumble recovery.
