There was plenty of speculation throughout 2023 regarding the status of Rams quarterback Stetson Bennett. The team's fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft spent the entire 2023 season on the reserved/non-football illness list. While nobody knows about what happened for him to be placed on that list, it did force the Rams to sign Carson Wentz last season to back up Matthew Stafford and could have also incentivized them to sign Jimmy Garoppolo. This is obviously a very private matter to Bennett and the Rams kept it under wraps for good reason.

In a presser on Tuesday, Sean McVay announced that Bennett had returned to the team and was participating in OTAs with them.

"He looks good'', McVay said, "He's had a good look in his eyes, he’s been attentive in the meetings."

At Georgia, Bennett helped lead the Bulldogs to two national championships, passing for 8,428 yards and 66 touchdowns in his collegiate career.

We don't know what Bennett's status or impact on the roster will be. However, it is a welcome sign that he is back with the team, and hopefully he is in a much better place mentally or physically than he was last season. Athletes are people first and hopefully he got the help he needed over the past year to be able to put his best foot forward to his NFL dream.
