The Los Angeles Rams drafted Texas wide receiver Jordan Whittington in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, using the 213th overall selection to make him a Ram. What are the Rams getting with him and how does he fit with the Rams' roster?

Scouting Report for Jordan Whittington

Strengths

  • Very good competitive toughness
  • Good body control
  • Good nuance as a route-runner
  • Good play strength
  • Good blocking ability

Weaknessess

  • Below-average ability vs. press coverage
  • Average athletic ability
  • Extensive injury history

Draft Grade

Jordan Whittington has a chance to compete on the bottom of the Rams wide receiver room and be a standout special teamer. He's not a particularly gifted athlete and is ideally best suited to play in the slot instead of outside, where his body control can thrive and be less exposed to press coverage. Whittington is a tremendous competitor and will be a tremendous asset on special teams for the Rams, giving him a good chance to make the roster.

I do believe there were better receivers on the board that were better fits for what the Rams needed, but Whittington is highly competitive, a good role player, and will bring it in the run game. A solid B-, in my opinion.
