The Los Angeles Rams drafted Arkansas center Beaux Limmer in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, using the 217th overall selection to make him a Ram. What are the Rams getting with him and how does he fit with the Rams' roster?

Scouting Report for Beaux Limmer

Strengths

  • Very good athletic ability
  • Very good competitive toughness
  • Good awareness and processing pre-and-post snap
  • Good use of hands

Weaknessess

  • Poor anchor
  • Below-average length
  • Average frame
  • Average play strength
  • Occasional lunge into contact

Limmer is a surprise to even be available this late in the draft. After his tremendous Combine performance, I thought Limmer would be selected much earlier in the draft, and his film reveals a good player. He's a rangy blocker with great quickness and the body control to nail targets out in space. He's a gifted competitor who fights through the whistle, and cleanly processes stunts and blitzes. He has accurate, if not strong hands and wins with good positioning. His anchor and frame are well below-average, likely the reason why he fell so far and probably is viewed as a center-only prospect.

Draft Grade

The Rams needed to shore up the interior of their offensive line, and they did just that with Limmer. Limmer is a gifted athlete and smart competitor whose biggest limitations arise from his frame. I can't imagine they were thrilled going into 2024 with Steve Avila as their only real answer at center, so this is a fantastic pickup to provide insurance at the pivot. This is an A grade from me, easily.
