Rams add talented tackle prospect in new 2025 mock draft image

It's never too early to look ahead at the 2025 NFL Draft, and the Los Angeles Rams have plenty of potential needs ahead. With long-term uncertainty at quarterback, wide receiver, offensive tackle, and cornerback, the Rams' options for next year's draft feel endless.

In Tankathon's latest mock draft, the Rams secure their left tackle prospect of the future, selecting LSU's Emery Jones.

Jones is a tremendous athlete whose technical skills are underrated in the conversation for best offensive tackle in the 2025 draft class. Right now, I prefer Jones to his teammate Will Campbell, despite Campbell being mocked consistently higher.

Jones is also an easy projection into the Rams' offense. With their shift towards a gap/power-run game, Jones's natural power and mobility fit their scheme to a T.

The one caveat to this is that it's never easy to project a tackle flipping from right to left (and vice versa), making Jones a projection to taking over at left tackle. While he has the skill set for it, that transition makes an already difficult adjustment to the NFL even more so. However, RT Rob Havenstein is getting up there in years, and 2025 is the last year of his contract. Havenstein's deal runs out of guaranteed money at the end of the season anyway. Jones could be the heir apparent at right tackle if Alaric Jackson steps up and earns an extension at the end of the 2024 season.
