Jim Harbaugh has only been the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers for about eight months but in that time, he has probably heard something about the Kansas City Chiefs and their success every single day.
Harbaugh gets his first crack at Andy Reid and the Chiefs this Sunday and though the Chargers are dealing with some key injuries, the team is likely stoked to face the defending Super Bowl champions. The Chiefs have taken the last five games from their division rival and they lead the all-time series 69-58-1.
The Chiefs have owned the recent series. In the last 20 meetings between these two teams, they have won 17 of those matchups dating back to 2014.
When was the last time the Chargers beat the Chiefs?
The Chargers have gone three years without a win over their hated rival. The last time the Chargers beat Kansas City actually occurred at Arrowhead Stadium on September 26, 2021. Justin Herbert played one of his best games as a pro that day, tossing four touchdowns as the Chargers beat the Chiefs 30-24.
It remains to be seen if Herbert will even play in this game, but there's a pretty good argument for him to sit it out.
For a second straight day, the Chargers listed quarterback Justin Herbert as a limited participant in practice.

The Chargers have not beaten the Chiefs at home since December of 2013. Home at that time was San Diego and they won 27-24 in overtime.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1:25 pm PT and the game will be televised on CBS. Jim Nantz and Tony Romo will be calling the Chargers' game for a second consecutive week.
