If Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has shown one thing in his time with the team, it's that he is loyal to the players he had in college. On Wednesday, he showed that again when the team claimed running back Hassan Haskins on waivers.

The Chargers set their 53-man roster on Tuesday when teams were required to do so by the league. Teams are now able to claim players that were waived by other teams around the league.

Harbaugh drafted linebacker Junior Colson in the third round of the draft and wide receiver Cornelius Johnson in the seventh. He also signed offensive lineman Karsen Barnhart as an undrafted free agent. All of those players played under Harbaugh at Michigan, which is where Haskins went to school.

Haskins was with the Wolverines from 2018-2021 and rushed for over 2,300 yards with 24 touchdowns during his college career. He was one of the best running backs in the nation in 2021, rushing for 1,327 yards and 18 touchdowns.

That led to him being a fourth-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2022 but things just never worked out for him there. He had just 93 yards rushing in his time with the Titans and was waived as the team got down to 53 players.

Harbaugh will give his former college standout another shot. Haskins is only 24 years old and with only 25 NFL rushing attempts under his belt, should have plenty of tread left on the tires.
