The cover athlete for Madden NFL 25 was revealed on Tuesday morning and while the player is not a member of the Las Vegas Raiders, the team is still making an appearance on the cover of the wildly popular video game.

The cover athlete for Madden NFL 25 has been revealed as San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, which is well-deserved for the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year who tallied over 2,000 yards from scrimmage in 2024.

Las Vegas comes into play because the Raiders are seen chasing down McCaffrey in the photo that is being used for the deluxe edition of the game. We can't tell which players specifically are behind the running back, but they are clearly Raiders.

Assuming that is a real photo, it has to be from the 2022 game between the Niners and Raiders in Week 17, the only contest McCaffrey has played against Las Vegas as a member of San Francisco.

In that game, McCaffrey went off for 193 yards from scrimmage (121 rushing) and one touchdown in a 37-34 overtime win over the Raiders. This shot could be from his 14-yard touchdown run in the contest, but he also had long gains of 37 on the ground and 38 through the air.

Only a handful of Madden covers have featured two teams, so this is certainly a rare occurrence. Go figure.
