As the Davante Adams trade saga unfolds before our very eyes, it only makes Las Vegas Raiders fans appreciate star edge rusher Maxx Crosby even more.
Despite repeatedly saying he wanted to remain with the team, Adams has requested a trade from the Raiders. And it has nothing to do with head coach Antonio Pierce's social media "like" because, by all accounts, he made the request before that and even appears to have put out feelers for a trade in 2023.
Instead, Adams simply isn't happy with the situation in Las Vegas. The team has a bad quarterback situation once again, and the chances of the Raiders competing for anything significant this season are slim and none.
Crosby is no stranger to living through this type of situation. After all, he has seen no shortage of dysfunction around him during his Raiders tenure and he's played in just one playoff game over five-plus seasons.
But through it all, Crosby has never once demanded a trade. We haven't heard a peep of negativity out of him, and in fact, it has been quite the opposite. Crosby has only reiterated his desire to remain with the Raiders and, unlike Adams, he actually means it.
“The guys who inspire me are the Kobes [Bryant] and the [Michael] Jordans; the guys that stayed at the same place and won in the same place,” Crosby said in June. “No offense to the guys like LeBron [James] and those dudes. I won’t give them some heat, but they took the easier road traveled and that’s not the way I look at it.
“Going through the ups and downs and the hardships is going to make it that much sweeter when I do win a Super Bowl. So, I plan on being here for a very long time and I plan on winning here. You know when I signed that contract, I didn’t have any type of you know thought of leaving or idea of leaving. I feel like I’m going to be a Raider for life.”
Even in the wake of the the trade request from Adams, who is taking the aforementioned easy road out Crosby talked about, he is remaining positive.
Everything negative – pressure, challenges, is all an opportunity for us to rise. 🦅💎

In this day and age when so many players are looking for the exit as soon as times get tough, Crosby's dedication to the Raiders is refreshing, to say the least.
Raiders fans didn't need to be reminded of how lucky they are to have someone like Crosby, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be pointed out, especially in times like these.
