Chris Simms issues awkward take on Raiders TE Brock Bowers image

NBC Sports analyst Chris Simms has had no shortage of weird takes over the years, but this one he has on Las Vegas Raiders 2024 NFL Draft pick and tight end Brock Bowers might take the cake.

Bowers was unexpectedly selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft by the Raiders. Now, that's not to say he didn't deserve to be taken there, and in fact one could argue he should've gone sooner. But nobody anticipated Las Vegas being in the market for a tight end in this draft, considering they had Michael Meyer, who was drafted in Round 2 last year.

Nevertheless, when you dig a bit deeper, it's clear that Bowers isn't your average tight end, as he can line up all over the field, including in the slot, where he played a ton of snaps while at Georgia.

Bowers is able to do that because of his elite athleticism, something Simms alluded to in what is one of the more awkward takes you will see on Bowers, or any player, for that matter.

There are no words...

The Raiders' selection of Bowers broke a 50-year NFL Draft streak, with Las Vegas becoming the first team since 1974 to draft tight ends with a top-40 pick in back-to-back years.

And, only one team has drafted tight ends in the first two rounds in back-to-back years in the last 20 years. The Raiders have now done it twice, with Bowers and Mayer, and Doug Jolley and Teyo Johnson in 2002 and 2003.
