Should Raiders give Alexander Mattison lead back duties over Zamir White? image

The Las Vegas Raiders rebounded in Week 4 after a tough loss to the Carolina Panthers the week prior, picking up a 20-16 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Las Vegas' defense stepped up without Maxx Crosby and multiple other starters, surrendering just 10 points and making life uncomfortable for Deshaun Watson.

On the other hand, Luke Getsy's offense was sporadic on Sunday, as the unit put together a couple of strong drives but also struggled to keep the chains moving for most of the second half.

After three games of basically nothing, the rushing attack finally woke up Sunday, but not because of Zamir White, who continues to underwhelm. As a result, it's time for head coach Antonio Pierce to make a change.

For the second time this season, White averaged under three yards per carry, as the former Georgia standout rushed for just 2.9 yards per on 17 carries. White also had a costly turnover on Sunday, fumbling on the first play of the fourth quarter, which led to a scoop and score touchdown for the Browns.

White's disappointing play isn't the only reason he deserves a demotion. Alexander Mattison impressed on Sunday, rushing for 60 yards on just five carries, and the 60 yards were the most any Raiders back has tallied in a game this season.

The former Viking scored a touchdown in each of the first three games and has been the only semblance of a spark in the running backs room this season.

He's also a far greater threat in the receiving game and has taken better care of the ball through four weeks.

White is a talented player, but the 2022 fourth-round pick isn't producing on the field. Mattison has been the better back by far and gives Las Vegas' offense a better chance of running a clean operation. He should be the lead back moving forward.
