The Las Vegas Raiders and wide receiver Davante Adams are reportedly heading for a breakup after the star wideout requested a trade, something the team is expected to oblige.
As far as where Adams could end up, there are at least four teams that have emerged as potential suitors thus far, according to reports. Two of those teams, per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, are the New York Jets and the Dallas Cowboys.
Russini reports that both teams have spoken to the Raiders already, but she adds that Las Vegas is in no rush to make a move until a team meets its asking price, which is reportedly a second-round pick, plus additional compensation.
"The Jets and Cowboys are among the many teams monitoring the Davante Adams situation," Russini wrote. "Both have checked in with the Raiders. I’m told at this point that Vegas is in no rush to make a move until a team reaches their asking price — but Adams wants out ASAP."
On Tuesday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported the Browns are "likely to inquire" about Adams after his trade request. She adds that Cleveland will also have interest in Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins if he ends up being available at some point.
"Browns will likely inquire about Raiders Davante Adams now that he's requested a trade, and possibly Titans DeAndre Hopkins," she wrote.
Last but not least, we have the Pittsburgh Steelers. Per Josina Anderson, Pittsburgh has "preliminary interest in at least discussing a potential trade" for Adams.
Of course, the Jets have been talked about as a possible suitor for Adams dating back to the offseason thanks to Adams' connection with quarterback Aaron Rodgers from their days together with the Green Bay Packers.
Both Adams and Rodgers have made it clear they wouldn't mind a reunion at some point. Considering that, the Jets are likely one of the favorites to land the star wideout.
The Cowboys, Browns and Steelers all have a need at wide receiver, as they lack options behind their respective No. 1 wideouts.
