With the 2024 NFL Draft and the busy part of free agency in the rearview mirror, it's time to do some homework on how much the Las Vegas Raiders are spending on each position, and where that spending ranks among the rest of the league.

Before we get to that, we should point out that the Raiders have $15.04 million in effective cap space left, per Over the Cap. Effective cap space is, "the cap space a team will have after signing at least 51 players and its projected rookie class to its roster," according to OTC.

That amount will go down very soon, though, as the contract of offensive lineman Andrus Peat has yet to be added. Before that, Las Vegas has the 14th-most effective cap space in the league.

Even still, the Raiders have some wiggle room to make another addition if they see fit. Also, lest we forget that $24 million will be freed up after June 1 once the Jimmy Garoppolo money comes off the books.

When it comes to spending on offense, the Raiders rank 16th in the NFL with their total cap hit coming in at $131.36 million, also per Over the Cap. On defense, Las Vegas is spending $95.24 million, which ranks 23rd.

Let's take a look at the breakdown of positional spending based on total top-51 cap hits and where the Raiders rank at each spot. All figures are courtesy of Over the Cap, except for the specialists, which we grabbed from Spotrac.
