The Las Vegas Raiders will look to rebound after a tough loss to the Carolina Panthers in Week 3 as the team squares off against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.
Antonio Pierce and his squad will look to avoid a 1-3 start and regain some momentum. Though the Browns are also 1-2 and showed vulnerability in their loss against the New York Giants last week, defeating Cleveland will be a formidable task for the Raiders, especially with the amount of injuries plaguing the team.
Four Las Vegas starters will miss Sunday's contest, including edge rusher Maxx Crosby and wide receiver Davante Adams. With key starters absent, there are a few players who will need to step up during this week's bout versus the Browns if Las Vegas wants to pick up its first home win of the 2024 campaign.
Tyree Wilson
Maxx Crosby is listed as doubtful to play, as the three-time Pro Bowler is dealing with an ankle injury. Though the 27-year-old has never missed a game and actually played when deemed doubtful last season, the Raiders will likely be without their best defensive player on Sunday.
With Crosby unlikely to play, 2023 No. 7 overall pick Tyree Wilson must step up. The former Texas Tech standout has played just 49 defensive snaps this season, posting just two quarterback pressures.
Sunday's game versus the Browns is a valuable opportunity for Wilson, as the 24-year-old will play most of the defensive snaps and will be relied upon to generate pressure. If Wilson underwhelms in Week 4, the Raiders' chances of winning are slim, and questions about his future in the NFL will only grow louder.
DJ Glaze
Glaze stepped in as the starting right tackle during the team's Week 3 loss to the Panthers after Thayer Munford exited with a knee injury in the first half.
The former Maryland standout had an up-and-down outing, logging 62 snaps, surrendering one sack and five quarterbacks, and posting a 54.8 run-blocking grade, according to Pro Football Focus.
With Munford doubtful to play in Week 4 due to a knee and ankle injury, Glaze is set to make his first career start and showcase why he should be a future building block on the Raiders' offensive line.
Offensive line coach James Cregg will need the rookie to step up and provide competent pass protection for quarterback Gardner Minshew while opening running lanes for Zamir White and Alexander Mattison. Glaze is going to be challenged, though, as he figures to get a matchup against Myles Garrett.
Tre Tucker
After a slow first two weeks, Tucker finally had a breakout game in Week 3. The 2023 third-round pick hauled in seven catches for 96 yards and a touchdown while showcasing his big-play ability.
With Adams scheduled to miss his first game as a Raider, Tucker will take over the role as WR2, with Jakobi Meyers serving as the WR1. Meyers will likely see a steady dose of Denzel Ward, which makes Tucker's showing even more important.
