We thought we had a pretty good handle on the Las Vegas Raiders' running back situation going into the offseason program, but 2024 sixth-round pick and running back Dylan Laube might throw a wrench into that.
The New Hampshire product has turned some heads this offseason and continued to do that on Tuesday during the team's first practice of mandatory minicamp.
According to The Athletic's Vic Tafur, Laube was "had a good first day" and even saw some reps with the first-team offense on passing downs.

According to Levi Edwards of Raiders.com, Laube was among the players who returned kicks, something he has experience doing from his days in college.

This isn't the first time we've seen Laube stand out. The rookie back was among the team's biggest standouts on Day 2 of organized team activities last month, also.
"High, high give a darn meter," special teams coordinator Tom McMahon said of the rookie in May.

It was assumed that Laube would be vying for the No. 4 running back role, with the team having Zamir White, Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah taking the top-three spots. However, Laube might be able to challenge for the No. 3 job if he can keep this up.
On top of his prowess as a runner and pass-catcher, Laube's ability to contribute on special teams — including in the return game — only makes him more valuable, which increases his chances of making the cut.
