We thought the Las Vegas Raiders' Week 3 game against the Carolina Panthers would be a blow-up spot for running back Zamir White and tight end Brock Bowers, but that turned out not to be the case.
Instead, the Raiders got blown out, which ruined the game script for White, who was bottled up for 34 yards on 10 carries, and he wasn't targeted once in the passing game while playing a season-low 14 snaps.
Bowers was quiet, also, reeling in three receptions for 41 yards in what was his least productive game of the 2024 season thus far. Making Bowers' showing even more disappointing was the fact that the game script favored him.
Knowing all that, should either Bowers or White be in your fantasy football lineup with a Week 4 matchup against the Cleveland Browns on deck? Let's find out.
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 4: Brock Bowers
UPDATE (9/28): With Davante Adams ruled out, the Raiders are going to lean on Bowers even more than normal. We already had him as a starter, but now he's an even more attractive lineup option in Week 4 (end of update).
Bowers is coming off his worst game of the 2024 campaign, and this isn't a great matchup, with the Browns ceding the 12th-fewest fantasy points per game to the position.
However, that's not enough for us to bench the supremely talented rookie, who we dubbed an every-week starter after his Week 2 breakout performance. Bowers still ranks second on the team in targets and is tied for first in receptions. With the tight end position as thin as it is, you have to roll him out there another week.
Verdict: Start 'Em
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 4: Zamir White
With the way the Browns' offense has played this season, this game should present a positive game script for White, although that's what we thought last week against the Panthers before the Raiders got blown out and White only saw 14 snaps.
While he's still averaging about 12 touches per game, the Browns are also ceding the 11th-fewest fantasy points per game to running backs and White hasn't found the end zone or rushed for more than 44 yards in a game. He simply can't be trusted, especially behind Las Vegas' struggling offensive line.
Verdict: Sit 'Em
