Oh, we are so back, ladies and gentlemen. With the first game of the 2024 NFL season in the books, we already have our first post-game tiff.

After being beaten by the Kansas City Chiefs in nail-biting fashion Thursday night, Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely did a bit of trash-talking in the post-game press conference.

"This is probably the worst game we're going to play all year," Likely said. "If this is the best that they got, then, I mean, good luck in the postseason."

It's not hard to understand why Likely was so frustrated.

He had a phenomenal game, personally, while the Ravens struggled overall offensively. Catching a total of nine passes for 111 yards and a touchdown, he nearly caught the game-tying touchdown with time expiring in the fourth quarter.

It was "this close" to putting his team in position to win.

After leaving it on the field like that, it's understandable that Likely is feeling upset.

On Friday morning, speaking with Kay Adams on Up & Adams, Chiefs safety Justin Reid was asked to respond to Likely's post-game rant.

He gave a brilliant answer that was both logically sound and a bit of a clap-back to Likely's complaint:

Listing all the reasons why the Chiefs are nowhere near their top strength, Reid made it clear the Ravens aren't the only team that hasn't peaked in Week 1.

Chances are, the Ravens will get another chance to beat the Chiefs in the postseason. Whether that means a different outcome for a Baltimore squad that's struggled to get over the hump in recent years remains to be seen.
