The Chiefs will make the final pick of the first round of the NFL draft for the third time in five years after another Super Bowl victory.

Kansas City didn't have much success with its first two attempts with running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire in 2020 and defensive end Felix Anudike-Uzomah in 2023. Edwards-Helaire is still a free agent and Anudike-Uzomah registered just a half-sack in 17 games during his rookie year.

This time around, the Chiefs can go in a few different directions with the No. 32 selection in 2024. Areas of need include cornerback, offensive line, wide receiver and edge rusher — positions that are relatively deep in this year's class. Kansas City traded away starting cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, currently doesn't have a starting left tackle and can always use more offensive weapons for quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

In a survey of 37 different mock drafts over the past month, the Chiefs selected a wide receiver the most (18 times) and an offensive tackle the second most (13 times). Cornerbacks were next on the list with four, while only one mock had a defensive tackle and one other had an edge rusher.

Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell was the most-picked player among the mock drafts. Six experts linked him to the Chiefs. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Mitchell finished this past season with 55 receptions for 845 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Longhorns. He began his career in Georgia.

BYU offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia was second with five picks, while Texas wideout Xavier Worthy, Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey and Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan garnered four picks each.
