NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Where the Jacksonville Jaguars sit entering MNF image

A football Sunday full of upsets have NFL analysts torn on where the Jacksonville Jaguars stand amongst the dregs of the league.

Upset wins by the Carolina Panthers, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos and New York Giants significantly altered the balance of power as the Jaguars enter a huge Monday Night Football clash against the Buffalo Bills.

Here’s where NFL experts have the Jags ranked among the league’s best.

NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Jacksonville Jaguars

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: No. 31 (down 4 spots)

“The Jaguars will be hard-pressed to avoid tying the Titans at 0-3 and falling further into the AFC South cellar. Their offense has been too much of a grind with Trevor Lawrence, not helping a defense with plenty of holes vs. the pass.”

Dakota Randall, PFF: No. 23 (down 1 spot)

“Will the real Jaguars please stand up? Jacksonville has the talent, including at quarterback, to compete with the best teams in the AFC. But Trevor Lawrence is too inconsistent, and the operation around him too sloppy, for the Jaguars to be true contenders.”

Sayre Bedinger, NFL Spin Zone: No. 25 (down 3 spots)

“The Jacksonville Jaguars have not been good this season, but what’s really concerning is how bad Trevor Lawrence has played dating back to last year. It’s undeniable at this point and a large enough sample size for everyone to be concerned in Jacksonville, especially given Lawrence’s pay grade. One of the highest-paid players in the history of the league needs to be out there playing like it, but the Jaguars simply haven’t gotten that kind of performance from Lawrence since the latter portion of the 2022 season and early in the 2023 season. Lawrence just doesn’t look like the same guy out there, and it’s worrisome. Now, this could all change in one fell swoop if Lawrence is able to have a big game on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills. While we’re not exactly anticipating that right now, you just never know.”

Taylor Wirth, NBC Sports Bay Area: No. 25 (no movement)

Trevor Lawrence is battling the fraud allegations. Particularly from yours truly. How will he respond against the mighty Bills on Monday Night Football?”

Peter Dewey, Sports Illustrated: No. 23 (up 2 spots)

“Jacksonville is an underdog on Monday night against Buffalo, and a loss would put it in a terrible spot at 0-3. Can Trevor Lawrence and company pull off the upset?”

Matt Johnson, Sportsnaut: No. 22 (no movement)

“Losing to the Cleveland Browns looks even worse a week later for the Jacksonville Jaguars. To make matters worse, Trevor Lawrence and Doug Pederson now face a potential 0-3 hole heading into a tough Monday Night Football matchup against the Buffalo Bills. If Jacksonville can’t win, pushing the Jaguars to 1-8 since December 2023, it will legitimately be time to start talking about Pederson’s future as a head coach.”

Consensus: No. 24
