The Jacksonville Jaguars had several departures this past offseason on the offensive side of the ball.
After trading for Calvin Ridley in 2022, the Alabama product didn’t pan out and live up to the Jaguars’ expectations. Regardless of that, he signed a massive four-year, $92 million deal with the division-rival Tennessee Titans. Zay Jones is also gone, signing with the Arizona Cardinals.
With that in mind, the Jaguars added multiple receivers, and have a secret weapon that may not be secret any longer. The Jaguars signed Gabe Davis from the Buffalo Bills, and drafted LSU’s Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round. They also may get more production from their 2023 sixth-round pick out of Penn State, Parker Washington.
Washington only caught 16 passes for 132 yards in 2023, but did have two scores. He clearly had a point to prove in the preseason opener against the Kansas City Chiefs, though. Washington returned a kickoff 74 yards and set up a touchdown for the Jaguars. He also ran a terrific slot fade that was slightly underthrown by C.J. Beathard. Had the ball been in front of him, he catches a touchdown.

While Christian Kirk will be the starter in the slot, Washington should have an increased role in the offense as the No. 4 receiver. A big jump in production is coming for the former Nittany Lion.
