Evan Engram injury updates: Latest on Jaguars tight end for Week 6 vs. Bears image

It’s been a frustrating start to the season for the Jacksonville Jaguars on offense, and especially for tight end Evan Engram.

Coming off a career year in 2023, when he set career highs for targets (143), catches (114) and receiving yards (963), Engram suffered a freak hamstring injury during pregame warmups in Week 2. Despite returning to practice last week, he hasn’t played in a game since the Sept. 8 season opener in Miami

Will quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars have their starting tight end for back-to-back games in London?

Here’s the latest on Engram’s status entering Sunday’s matchup with the Chicago Bears (8:30 a.m. EST):

Week 6 injury update: Evan Engram

Engram was able to log three limited practices last week before being ruled out as a game-time decision. He was limited once again on Wednesday, with the team planning to ramp up his participation throughout the week.

Head coach Doug Pederson told reporters Monday that Engram’s “chances are good” for Sunday’s game against the Bears. But after logging another limited practice on Thursday, key indicator will be Engram’s ability to practice in full on Friday, something he hasn’t been able to do since Week 2.

Engram’s anticipated return should provide the Jaguars with a major boost on offense, especially against a stingy Bears defense that ranks top 10 in the NFL in opponent yards per play.
