It's not often a seventh-round draft pick turns into a vital starter in the NFL. Don't tell that to Indianapolis Colts right guard Will Fries.

After being selected by the Colts in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Fries eventually earned a starting role toward the end of his second season in the NFL.

That translated into him keeping the job in 2023, becoming a vital part of a resurgent offensive line in the first season under Tony Sparano Jr. As Fries enters the final year of his rookie contract, he's become a massive value for the Colts.

Thus, he was featured on the NFL's All-Underpaid Team, put together by Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News.

Not just part of that viral picture with teammate and center Wesley French, Fries has become an accomplished interior run blocker who deserves a raise soon.

Though far from perfect, Fries put together a solid campaign in 2023. According to Pro Football Focus, he allowed 30 total pressures and four sacks while playing 98% of the offensive snaps.

Fries is scheduled to be a free agent following the 2024 season but if he puts together another solid season, a nice payday is likely coming his way.
