In a Week 3 win against the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor scored a season-high 26.5 fantasy points.
On the other hand, Indianapolis' quarterback Anthony Richardson recorded a season-low with 5.08 points.
Heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, here is your fantasy football advice for the Colts' main offensive contributors.
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Anthony Richardson
After a rough game against the Bears last week in which Richardson threw two interceptions and no touchdowns, ESPN projects the second-year quarterback to be a mid-tier quarterback option in a PPR-based fantasy league in Week 4.
Richardson is ranked the 13th-best quarterback, one spot below the Minnesota Vikings' Sam Darnold and one above Seattle Seahawks QB1 Geno Smith.
Most fantasy leagues include anywhere from 8-12 members, which means Richardson sits just outside the starting tier against Pittsburgh.
What's more, Pittsburgh has allowed the second-least fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks through the first three weeks, facing the likes of the Atlanta Falcons' Kirk Cousins and the Los Angeles Chargers' Justin Herbert.
Verdict: Sit 'Em
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Jonathan Taylor
The Colts' best offensive player had his best game of the season against Chicago last Sunday, both from a fantasy and legitimate standpoint.
Taylor compiled 135 total yards and two touchdowns against the Bears, and even though the Steelers run defense is much more stout, ESPN still likes Taylor's fantasy chances this Sunday.
No. 28 is ranked the seventh-best running back option in PPR-based leagues this week, one spot below the San Fransisco 49ers' Jordan Mason and above the Miami Dolphins' De'Von Achane.
Similarly to its pass defense, Pittsburgh has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs this season with a measly average of 9.5 points per game.
Yes, the Steelers have limited running backs like the Falcons' Bijan Robinson and the Chargers' J.K. Dobbins, but Taylor is easily the most polished and consistent back Pittsburgh's defense has gone up against so far this year.
Verdict: Start 'Em
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Michael Pittman Jr.
The Colts' WR1 has compiled fewer fantasy points in the first three weeks of the season combined (19.8) than Taylor did against the Bears alone (26.5). While Pittman Jr. racked up his most fantasy points of the season last week, he only totaled 7.6 off his 36 yards on four catches.
Pittman Jr. continues to fall down fantasy football big boards, and ESPN's Week 4 wide receiver rankings confirm that. The USC alum is listed at 28th, one spot below the Cleveland Browns' Amari Cooper and one spot above the Denver Broncos' Courtland Sutton.
What's more telling of Pittman's fallen stock is that he is ranked below numerous teams' No. 2 options, such as the Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the 49ers' Jauan Jennings and the Cincinnati Bengals' Tee Higgins.
Pittsburgh has allowed more fantasy points to wide receivers (14.5 PPG) than running backs or quarterbacks, but given its strong defense against gunslingers and Pittman's lack of production this season, he should be considered at best a low-tier FLEX option or at worst a bench player.
Verdict: Sit 'Em
