Former United States President Donald Trump was shot in the right ear in an apparent assassination attempt Saturday evening during a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In addition to Trump's wound, one civilian attending the rally was killed and two others are in serious condition. The Secret Service said the alleged shooter was killed by the agency.

Trump was rushed off stage by the Secret Service but not before pumping his fist in the air with streaks of blood across his face.

The former President is "fine," according to a spokesperson, and Trump was discharged from a local hospital.

In the aftermath of the assassination attempt, Indianapolis Colts star linebacker Zaire Franklin shared his thoughts on the matter.

Franklin, 28, is a four-time captain for the Colts and was a nominee for the 2023 Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
