The Indianapolis Colts will enter the offseason with a need to address the secondary again.
After relying on the young core of defensive backs during the 2024 offseason, it's likely that general manager Chris Ballard will need to look heavily into improving the secondary — specifically the safety position.
While free agency is always an option to add a veteran, the more likely scenario is that the Colts use the 2025 NFL draft to add more depth to the unit.
Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report feels the best fit in the upcoming draft for the Colts is South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori.
"Rather than trying to piece something together with a few Day 3 picks, the Colts might want to look into adding a bona fide weapon like Nick Emmanwori in next year's draft. Emmanwori was highlighted as one of our top rising prospects last week. The 6'3", 227-pound jumbo safety could bring the edge to a secondary that needs to find an identity," Ballentine wrote.
In his three seasons as a Gamecock, Emmanwori has 180 total tackles and four interceptions.
What's more, is that Emmanwori measures in at 6-foot-3 and weighs 227 pounds, making him significantly big for his position.
Per Pro Football Focus' 2025 NFL Draft prospect big board, Emmanwori ranks as the 14th-best safety in the class and 133rd overall player.
