When looking ahead at the 2024 season for the Indianapolis Colts, most would agree the team's success hinges on the production of quarterback Anthony Richardson.

In projecting the upcoming season for the main group of second-year quarterbacks—Richardson, C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young and Will Levis—the Colts' starting signal-caller could be in for a massive campaign.

Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News projected an electric second season for Richardson, one that would eerily similar to a former quarterback that worked under Shane Steichen.

Richardson played in only two full games as a rookie. He averaged 31 pass attempts and 10 rushing attempts and might have pushed Stroud and Puka Nacua as best offensive rookie had he not been shut down after Week 5. He was adjusting well in Shane Steichen's offense, which helped turn Jalen Hurts into one of the league's premier dual threats.

The Colts won't shy away from being a run-heavy attack again with Jonathan Taylor good to go from the get-go. That also will keep pressure off Richardson and facilitate his own running.

Richardson's projected 2024 stats: 3,700 passing yards, 24 passing TDs, 8 INTs, 63 percent completion percentage, 7.5 yards per attempt, 95.2 passer rating, 720 yards rushing, 8 rushing TDs

This would likely be the high-end projection for Richardson. If he matched this production, the Colts would certainly find themselves in the playoffs.

Going over 4,400 total yards and 32 touchdowns with just eight interceptions rivals the 2022 season that Jalen Hurts put together. His stat line included 3,701 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns and eight interceptions to go along with 760 rushing yards and 13 rushing touchdowns.

The Colts and the fanbase would certainly sign up for an electric campaign like this considering it would put them right in competition for a playoff spot.
