Colts' Anthony Richardson has injury scare, Joe Flacco takes first-team reps image

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson ended Wednesday's minicamp practice watching from the sideline for the first time this offseason.

After what appeared to be an uncomfortable day for the electric quarterback, veteran Joe Flacco took the final reps with the first-team offense to end practice.

Richardson was seen getting looked at by the training staff while stretching a lot in between reps.

Whether this is a deliberate limitation of Richardson's reps or another issue entirely isn't clear.

It could be something. It could be nothing. It could be that Richardson was simply feeling a little sore as he works his way back from surgery that ended his rookie season after only four starts.

Richardson has been open about the fact that his shoulder may feel "a little achy" at times.

There have been a few reports that no one seemed overly concerned with the development that ended practice, but it's still noteworthy.

Colts fans don't need any reminder of what it's like for franchise quarterbacks to deal with shoulder injuries.

Richardson has been taking all of the first-team reps throughout OTAs and the first day of minicamp so this is certainly something to monitor.

Head coach Shane Steichen isn't meeting with the media until Thursday morning before the final minicamp practice so there's a chance we get an update then.
