The Green Bay Packers likely will be active over the next few weeks.
Green Bay currently is 2-2 on the young season, but there is a lot of hope for the 2024 season. The Packers have been able to stay around .500 this season despite not being at full strength. Green Bay is trending in the right direction and could be a threat in the NFC this season if it can stay healthy the rest of the way.
The Packers will return to the field in Week 5 on Sunday as they take on the Los Angeles Rams. Green Bay lost in Week 4 against the undefeated Minnesota Vikings but showed a lot of grit as they fought back and lost 31-29.
The next few weeks will be interesting for the team. If the Packers could stack up some wins, maybe they will look to add to the roster around the Nov. 5 trade deadline. Some players could be on the way out of town.
FanSided's Zach Pressnell put together a list of three players who may not be with the team after the trade deadline and mentioned running back Chris Brooks.
"The Green Bay Packers have a pretty solid running back room when everybody is healthy," Pressnell said. 'They're led by Josh Jacobs, who takes the bulk of the touches as the team's bell-cow running back. Jacobs leads the way no matter who's healthy in Green Bay. As of now, with Lloyd on the (Injured Reserve), Chris Brooks has stepped in as the team's RB3.
"There are a few different outcomes as the season goes on for the Packers running back room, but none of the options result in Brooks on the roster. If Lloyd returns this season healthy and ready to go, Brooks will obviously end up cut or on the practice squad. If Lloyd isn't able to make his return, the Packers will likely go after a veteran running back in free agency or in a trade to help their depth. Neither option includes Brooks finishing the season with the team, though."
Keep an eye on Brooks over the next few weeks.
