The Green Bay Packers have some high expectations heading into the 2024 season.
Green Bay overachieved in 2023 and now should be even better. Young quarterback Jordan Love will have another year under his belt and Green Bay had a solid offseason adding help around him. All in all, things are looking up for the Packers.
While this is the case, the Packers could still use a little more depth with the linebacker position specifically being one that could use a boost. One player who was linked to the Packers in free agency is four-time Pro Bowler Anthony Barr by Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine.
"Linebacker is another position where the Packers are hoping to get big contributions from a collection of young players," Ballentine said. "The move from a 3-4 front to Jeff Halfey's 4-3-based defense is going to require the Packers to have more off-ball linebackers who can be on the field. With De'Vondre Campbell leaving in free agency, Quay Walker is the only locked-in starter...
"There are multiple veteran linebackers who could help stabilize the room for them moving forward. Kwon Alexander could be a nice fit and Anthony Barr is still looking for a home. Neither would be long-term solutions but could afford Cooper a longer runway to playing time."
Barr is coming off an injury-riddled season but certainly could still help Green Bay if it wanted to make a move before the 2024 National Football League season kicks off.
