Davante Adams has informed the Las Vegas Raiders that he would prefer to be traded, according to NFL insider Ian Rapoport.
Adams is an instant difference-maker for any offense. NFL insider Josina Anderson revealed that at least one NFC team is interested in Adams, but with certain stipulations. The Green Bay Packers could be that team.
"Just spoke to a league source indicating an NFC team would have interest in Davante Adams, but not currently for a 2nd-round pick. Sounds like restructuring would be needed in this* particular case, too," Anderson wrote on X.
FanSided's Kinnu Singh suggests that only three teams in the NFC would need to restructure Adams' contract to facilitate a trade. Among those teams is his former team, the Packers.
"That leaves just three NFC teams: the Philadelphia Eagles with $11.4 million in salary cap space, the Seattle Seahawks with $12.1 million in salary cap space, and the Green Bay Packers with $14.2 million in salary cap space," Singh wrote while narrowing teams that fit Anderson's report.
The Packers traded Davante Adams to the Raiders before the 2022 season. However, the Raiders traded Derek Carr who was a big reason Adams wanted to play there. Now, the Packers could potentially be looking for a reunion.
"Green Bay would be able to acquire Adams since more than two years have surpassed since they traded him, and the Packers could certainly use his services," wrote Singh. "Although wide receiver Jayden Reed has emerged as a dynamic threat, the Packers have not been able to establish a clear No. 2 wide receiver behind him."
