The Green Bay Packers have a lot of talent at different positions, which has led to an exciting and competitive training camp.
Packers senior writer Wes Hodkiewicz reported on Tuesday that Green Bay is witnessing a fierce position battle at tackle right now.
Rasheed Walker and Zach Tom are the presumed starters, but there are at least five different players competing for the third tackle spot during training camp at Ray Nitschke Field.
Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has certainly noticed the battle at tackle, as reported by Hodkiewicz:
"LaFleur on the tackle competition amongst Andre Dillard, Kadeem Telfort, Caleb Jones, Travis Glover & Luke Tentua: "Right now, we’re trying to figure out who’s gonna be that third tackle. It’s a heck of a competition right now.""
LaFleur and the rest of Green Bay's coaching staff are fully intent on offering Jordan Love the best protection possible this season, so the third tackle role is an important one.
If the Packers O-line does its job and gives Love time and space to operate, Green Bay's offense could become one of the league's most dynamic aerial attacks.
Love has a plethora of wideout weapons to work with, meaning secondaries could be in a lot of trouble when they come to Lambeau Field this season.
