The Green Bay Packers have some high hopes for the 2024 season.
Green Bay made the playoffs last year in Jordan Love's first full year under center. He impressed and looks to be the Packer's next superstar quarterback of the future. Love looked like a true star out there and was rewarded with a new contract that will keep him in Green Bay for the foreseeable future.
Now that the Packers found their guy, it will be important to protect him. The Packers seem to have a solid offensive line on paper, but Bleacher Report called the center position Green Bay's biggest weakness right now. Because of this, they linked Green Bay to former Pittsburgh Steelers center Mason Cole.
"Add Now: IOL Mason Cole," Bleacher Report said. "Josh Myers has failed to live up to expectations during his three-year career so far, to the point where there were rumors that Zach Tom might move to center.
"Also, Sean Rhyan struggled as a backup last season with a 51.7 grade from Pro Football Focus, leading to expectations that rookie first-round pick Jordan Morgan will start at left guard in 2024. So, Green Bay could use a veteran interior offensive lineman in training camp, and Cole has experience at all three positions to serve as an insurance policy at the least."
The Packers look like a team that can make a deep run in 2024, but they are going to need to keep Love healthy. Landing someone like Cole could help with this.
