The 2024 National Football League season is just about here.
It has felt like a long summer, but real football finally is almost here. It has felt like forever since the last football game that had real implications. The Green Bay Packers will kick off Week 1 action against the Philadelphia Eagles in less than a week on Friday, September 6th in Brazil.
The Packers have been hard at work getting the roster ready to roll. Green Bay had to trim it down to 53 players and likely is done making major moves.
Green Bay could look to make additions throughout the season, but right now it probably is done making any major splashes. This doesn't mean there won't be other major moves across the league, though.
Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine put together a list of "bold" trade proposals ahead of the 2024 season and mentioned former Packers star receiver Davante Adams as someone who could get traded.
"There was plenty of trade speculation surrounding Las Vegas Raiders receiver Davante Adams this summer," Ballentine said. "The buzz grew so loud that Adam's agent had to come out and say that the rumors were 'baseless, unfounded speculation' and noted that Adams is, 'expected to be with the Raiders...'"
"Adams' frustration with the quarterback situation was captured on Netflix's 'Receiver' show. It's fair to wonder how he's going to fare if the offense isn't better in 2024. (Gardner Minshew) was 23rd in the league in catchable pass rate, per Player Profiler. The 31-year-old has two more years left on his Raiders contract, but the team would clear $17.5 million by trading him and there isn't much guaranteed money in those last two years. Don't be surprised if Adams trade rumors are a hot topic again during the season."
Keep a close eye on the former Packers star.
