The Detroit Lions had an injury scare during their Week 3 game against the Arizona Cardinals, as young stud tight end Sam LaPorta injured his ankle that forced him to exit the contest in the first half.
LaPorta got his ankle rolled up on by a Cardinals defender. After he hobbled off the field to the sideline, LaPorta was carted to the locker room, which had everyone thinking the absolute worst.
However, LaPorta returned to the game in the second half. He did exit once again after a few snaps but was able to re-enter once again a bit later.
Following Detroit's 20-13 win over the Cardinals, head coach Dan Campbell gave an update on LaPorta, revealing his exact injury.

According to ESPN's Eric Woodyard, Campbell revealed that LaPorta has a sprained ankle but did not say if it would cost him any time.

Adding to that, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports it's a low-ankle sprain, as opposed to a high-ankle sprain that is a multi-week injury.
Initial belief is #Lions TE Sam LaPorta suffered a low ankle sprain, per source. Will undergo tests to determine severity, though.

Judging from the fact that LaPorta was able to return to the game, it would appear he has a shot to play in Week 4. On top of that, here's a video that shows LaPorta was moving pretty well on the sideline after the injury.

The Lions' next game will be a "Monday Night Football" contest against the Seattle Seahawks, so LaPorta will have an extra day to rest up. The Lions will release their first injury report of the week on Thursday.
Prior to his injury, LaPorta was on pace to have his best game of the season but ultimately fell short, finishing with two receptions for 36 yards.
